COVID-19 | A Letter From The Phelps Family & Team

Dear Valued Customer,

As we continue to adapt in response to COVID-19, the health and safety of our customers and employees remain our top priority. We understand the challenges our customers are facing, and we aim to support your needs in any way we can while continuing to service and maintain our products and deliveries.

We would like to share an update on our ongoing actions to ensure the continued operation of Phelps and the delivery of our products and services:

  • We are monitoring the rapidly changing situation daily as well as continuing to follow guidance from both the CDC and local health authorities.
  • We are a highly automated business with less people and less touches on all of the items we service you with.
  • We wash all products at 165-185 degrees for an average of 45 minutes.
  • All garments then go through our steam tunnel at 285 degrees for 9.5-10 minutes.
  • It is essential that garments are turned back into Phelps to be laundered at or above CDC recommended temperatures and times for complete sterilization.
  • If we have a lot of people out sick, the family and management team can perform all tasks necessary to continue servicing you every day.
  • We are providing all drivers with additional protective gear to be changed between each customer visit.
  • Each company vehicle is equipped with gloves and hand sanitizers and will be disinfected throughout the work day.
  • Our doors are closed to visitors and we are shipping all necessary orders.
  • We extended a paid sick leave to cover any time an employee needs to be out, so no one would experience financial consequences for self-quarantine.
  • We are providing daily and ongoing training surrounding personal hygiene and cleaning of work areas and surfaces.
  • We have increased the amount of sanitizing stations inside our facility to encourage more frequent usage.
  • We have increased our janitorial staff and duties to clean and sanitize all work and break areas multiple times throughout the day.

We remain committed to servicing and supporting our customers during this time while working diligently to ensure the health and safety of all employees and customers.
