In 1981, Mike and Jerry Phelps founded the company. In just over a decade they outgrew their first building and moved on to a new facility.

2005, Jerry retired and Mike purchased his brother’s portion of the business and become the sole owner.

2006, Phelps was one of the first to integrate RFID tracking in all garments and mats. They introduced, Chip. You can still see the mascot’s friendly face on many of our trucks – reminding customers of the accuracy we provide!

2013, Moved into our current and newest facility- doubling the size of their operation capacity.

2019, Phelps grew to over 100 employees and with multiple depot locations (LaSalle, Des Moines, Dubuque).

2020, The next generation of Phelps brothers – Dustin and Luke became co-owners in the family business.

2022, Three new washing machines are installed to our newly renovated wash floor and an updated RFID system is implemented. Our Green Initiative begins!
